A Vote of Confidence for Pulse Oximetry Measurements From Apple Watch Series Six
A team from the university of sapallo in brazil looked at heart rate and oxygen saturation for three sets of patients under controlled conditions. The tests were conducted with healthy individuals, people with intersticial lung disease, or i l d, and with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or c o p d. Comparing the warables measurements to medical devices made specifically for such purpose, nine to five max says, the university found strong, positive correlations between the apple watch series six device and commercial oximeters.
