Does the EU Still Serve the Interests of Certain Member States?

To what extent does the EU still overwhelmingly serve the interests of particular member states, namely high value export powered wage suppressing Germany? I think it has to be quite cautious here. The notion that there was the lack of sovereignty within the Eurozone is something that was caused by monetary unification doesn't quite hold up scrutiny if you look at the previous arrangements. It's not quite clear whether these countries would have been better off outside of the Eurozone. But I should also add that while it is true that Germany has profited immensely from integrating with low-wage Eastern European countries.
