The Importance of Diversifying Your Portfolio

The amount of damage that you can do to your financial wealth by not looking after your portfolio in a sensible way, many times, exceeds the damage you could do. Most people probably spend much less time thinking about their portfolios than they do about thinking about getting their car fixed. And I have a sneaky suspicion that the home bias is very strong and probably well more than a majority of individuals really think only about their home country. That just doesn't make a lot of sense in 2017. It also doesn't make sense because increasingly the world we live in today is, is one where capital does not respect national borders.
