The Streets of Harlem
Kennedy's father moved his family from Harlem to Port Chester, New York in 1892. L.J. Kennedy worked as a bricklayer and eventually became a successful contractor overseeing the construction of factories, schools, hospitals and libraries across the region. "Nothing that my Irish ancestor did back then was above the table," he says.
