The Different Types of Conductors
In a lattice, the electrons are arranged kind of like in rows and in columns. When they're together in a material, the electrons slosh easily back and forth between them; for an insulator that doesn't happen. And so you'll see them in rows and that's what we mean by the lattice. You have just like a grid of atoms.
