Berlin was both the political and the industrial capital of germany, and it also became the financial capital. With is enormous expansion, inevitably ad her there's a lot of people who who get left out. And interestingly, berlin's politics becomes increasingly left wing. Of course, all that changes horribly in 19 14, that awful tragedy which we still won't ever understand fully.
