Candidate Quality Is True, but Not for Primary
The GOP has gone so far to the right that they have to have these conversations. The challenge is who comes out to vote in primaries? And on both sides, it's their base. Right now, their base is highly radicalized. So those independent moderate voters are going to have to decide: am I going to actually go for the one that might be moderate? Or maybe I just stay home or I go for the moderate Democrat.
