Asterixis and Hepatic Encephalopathy Are Not Synonymous
Once a serotic develops overt hepatic encephalopathy, mortality is not increased steeply. It's important to reduce the amount of ammonia absorption from the intestinal lumen. Pilessomone absorbed, pilessid enters the brain, and worsens the patient's mental status. To do so, we're going to reach for non-absorbable disaccharides and antibiotics.
