The Life and Times of Emperor Yu
Lord Yu spent 13 years fighting against a host of barbarian raiders known as the Sun Myao. His ultimate success saw his tribe's prominence greatly expanded, and it came to control the surrounding clans. He succeeded Shen in the year 2197 BCE, at the age of 53. After taking office, one of emperor Yu's first undertakings was a bit of house cleaning.
