John Dudley and the Reformation of the Church
When henry the eighth died in 15 forty seven, john dudley basically stepped into the power vacuum. The throne passed to henry's son by his third wife, named edward. John dudley organized a council that oversaw government and also oversaw further reform of the church. Doctrines were were reformed along sort of swiss reformation lines,. more similar to zwingli and calvin's teachings. Images and icons were stripped out of the churches rit the remaining monasteries were closed down.
