During the pandemic, shuttered or understaffed factories couldn't produce what people needed. Large manufacturers didn't have reserve supplies because they weren't designed to opera that way. Without workers, everything breaks down. There's also a shortage of truck drivers who happen to be a critical part of the supply chain.
