The Importance of Camp Followers in the War
Camp followers were essential to the war efforts, says author. They provided alcohol, food and other things that soldiers needed because militaries weren't capable of providing that on their own. The idea that somehow women are too delicate to survive being on the battlefield actually contradicts reality in a quite a significant way.
