Is the Labor Shortage a Good Thing?

Davyou mentioned a the labor crunch that is currently under way in the united states. Part of that is driven by a coved and the fall out from covid including massive payments to for people to not return to work when they otherwise would. I wonder at the extent to which that has changed the political calculus with respect to a emigration. Right now, i've even heard a few democrats saying things like, oh, no, this is good, actually, because it's driving wages up.
