The Story of Valedimir Vakolenko

Valedimir Vakulenko was a children's author and poet from Haqiv, Ukraine. He went missing in the early weeks of the war after Russian forces occupied his town. His diary now sits carefully wrapped in tissue paper in Haqiv's literary museum. It's held there alongside manuscripts of other Ukrainian writers murdered by Moscow's men 90 years ago during Stalin's great terror. The UN says that the true figure is likely to be considerably higher than the verified total of just under 9,000 deaths.
