Is There Harshness in Guitars?

Guitars can have harshness in the three to eight k range. A lot of times treble issues and upper mid range issues are coming directly out of the monitors themselves. The sound you're getting is kind of polluted, so audition some different monitors or take your stuff into a room that's got really good monitors...you might be surprised at what's actually going on there.
