The First Public Execution of a Protester in Iran

Anti-government protests began in mid-September after the death of Masa Amini. She was detained by Iran's morality police for allegedly wearing her hedge up improperly. The protests have been largely women-led and have spread to around 160 cities. They've been seen as one of the most serious challenges to the Islamic Republic since the 1979 revolution.
