The Different Types of Osteotomies
Acetabular osteotomies are used after reduction is confirmed on abduction internal rotation views and satisfactory range of motion has been obtained. The salt or osteotomy is indicated in younger patients typically with open triradic cartilage. A triple or steel osteotomy is favored in older children because their symphysis pubis does not rotate well. Moving on to the Pemberton osteotomy, this is indicated for moderate to severe DDH.
