God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?

David Frum: Psalm 42 tells us to hope, not just in the general idea that one day things are going to work out. He says it's hope in a concrete living person who gives us hope stronger than death. Jesus was experiencing Psalm 42 in the Garden of Gethsemane when he was downcast and asked God why have you forsaken me? Frum: On the cross, Christ takes our place so that we can go through spiritual dryness without destabilizing because on the cross he died for us. The Scripture holds Christ in such terms as make him very gentle and weary people say by the world or yourself.
