In 1905, there was no director of football at Chelsea. Fred Parker spent five days wooing clubs with Jackie Robertson. The first signing was sent to forward called Bobmont Roberts for 100 quid. They bought James Robertson and inside forward for 50 quid. Jimmy Windridge, who is actually one of our early legends, cost an enormous 190 quid. And then a little bit later, of course, we got the Giant 22 stone 6 foot 2 goalkeeper, Willie Falk. It could be the summer transfer window of all summer transfer windows for Chelsea.
