Jim Jones was an outspoken socialist speaking to minorities and other disadvantaged people. The government had first looked into Jones during the people's temple migration to California in the early 60s. Once in Guyana, Jones became fevers in his condemnation of the United States. He even made up reports that he would read to his congregation.
