The Lord Says, I Will Pronounce the Name of the Lord, Not the Front Side of God's Name
Moses says, i pray thee show me thy glory. This is kind of a bold request on this occasion here. And god say s that he can't really show his glory to m Moses, because it's still the old covenant. But he can show part of his glory by proclaiming the name of the lord - not the front side of god's name, but the backside of his name. In verses 10-26 we have laws that summarize the laws that were given before them. There is an emphasis here in verse 14, whose name for the lord is jealously jealous. The people had committed harlotry, spiritual Harlotry and provoked god to jealousy.
