The Function of Man in the Garden of Eden

Man is created in the image of God. He doesn't just possess it, he is the image. In order for Adam to engage in that functional aspect of the image, he had to be placed in a realm and in a temple. So man is not only seen as the the ek type of the Lord, but he's also kind of a microcosmic representation of the entire created sphere.
