Politicians from all sides of politics sue for deformation in australia. It's not just, you know, progressive politicians or conservative politicians. And it's easy to sue for defirmation in austra and the offences are much more difficult to establish. The implied freedom of political communication hasn't really proven to be a very effective protection. This is something that goes back, i think, well into the nineteenth century.
