In 1900, Carl was hunting in Africa for the museum. He shot a hyena and a warthog then left them in a secure place to be used as bait. Later that day he went back to his spot but found two big bloody streaks leading into the bushes. A leopard latched onCarl's hand while kicking him with its back legs.
