The Senato and the Unknown Warrior

The tomb of the unknown warrior was unveiled in 19 20, on the same day as the Unknown Soldier's burial. The memorials were designed to give people a sense of closure or catharsis when they learned their loved one had been killed during the war. People would take tracings from the headstones and then leave flowers at the grave site after seeing it for the first time.
