For a long time, people said the two party system is great because it encourages moderation. But once liberal extremists gained the upper hand in the Republican Party and they took over one of the two major parties, now that's kind of game over, right? Because there's no way for a third party that is a moderate center right party to emerge. Just say, well, we need to make room at the table for people with really racist beliefs because they're not going away. It feels a little bit like giving up.
