What Is God Trying to Tell Us?

This is not merely a story about a the father who's willing to sacrifice his son. This is the story of a father and a son team. And yet, we ask the question, why would god do this though? What what's the whole point of this story? I think that point of the story is it set up the context for everything about the spiritual life. That's how that's how deep and profound this story is.
