There are so many Matilda's in this book, but they all have to be in there. I've gone with Matilda for the Princess of Boulogne just to try and differentiate her from the others. So it's Matilda of Scotland or Empress Matilda. That's the only way you can help the reader really. Also what I found fascinating was how even members of the royal family, we don't really have the birth dates of William the Conqueror's children. They just didn't bother to write them down. It's all quite frustrating from this distance to write about. But at the end of the day, the story is still very strong that the book's based
