The Origins of Cricket in the Pacific Islands

Trobrian islanders started playing cricket in the early nineteenth century. But it was not realy an organized activity, and there was very little connection with the british empire. For them, this was just a ritual and an extension of their religion. The games would mostly be played between two villages. And they were not really competitive in nature.
