Everton's Dijs Is Getting Big Wooden Socks
I think because of the way people are playing Sunday League amateur football, they feel a bit like that as well. It looks a bit clunky and you don't look as cool for them. I remember Robbie Keene used to say that he would get sent a new set of shin pads at the start of the season and give them to the kit man to shave down. Because he felt they interfered with his tuck and things like that. Dijs presumably has got like big wooden ones. Inserted into every play of socks. That's best of showing with one of those clappers. Come on. Well, Dijs did insist that Everton tried very hard to sign new players
