How to Write a Simulator

I come from a quantitative background as you know, and I like to write elegant functional programs. When I'm thinking about how to implement a rule, I'm actually thinking how those functions are going to look on a screen. So if you're in a testing idea out, you don't have to go out and write 10,000 lines of code. You can write one line of simulation code, put in your idea and see how that does. It's absolutely critical to any type of critical thinking that you can write a simulation in one line.
