Is Southwest a Discount Airline?

I was taught if you pay at the last minute at the airport is quite a bit more expensive than ordering your tickets in advance. Another thing that you can do for discount airlines is sometimes I just missed my flight on purpose. They're not really happy about it, but they'll let you go. It doesn't always work. I wouldn't pick the busiest weekend to do it. Definitely don't go during the race car.
