The Overindulgence of Psychology in the 70s

As a child growing up in the 70s, my father wrote for psychology today. There was so much emphasis on what do you really mean? And what are you really saying when you say that? And I heard a lot of that as a kid. So to me, we were looking for somebody who could supply this kind of conduit. It gave us, you know, great narrative leeway to have somebody kind of come in and say, don't you know about X, Y, or Z?"
