Hercules' Stepfather and the Woman Who Would Be Her Mother
There are several different stories as to what happens when Hercules is born, so I'm just going to pick one. The man who would be Hercules' stepfather was away at war, and the woman who would be his mother had caught the eye of the king of the gods, Zeus. Hera somehow learns that Zeus impregnated yet another woman, and that Hercules would be the grandson of Perseus,. She talked to Zeus, and got him to agree that the next baby born in the line of Perseus will be High King.
