Your book does sort of go against a perception tat he was a naive target, that he was act more active than has previously been laid out. The conventional view is that he was a dupe and used it as leverage in terms of his negotiations with his family. But i think the evidence is that he, for example, engaged with them. He knew that the germans were in touch with him. They they actualy offered to take care of his possessions, and his house and possessions in paris and the south of france. And this was against the treachery act. I mean, he could have been, not court martialled, he could've been tried for treason
