Did You Know That There Was a Lost Fortune?
The idea of a lost fortune, or family money spread across the globe does seem to crop up at a few points in the book with different family members. I think it often was, was a kind of myth that somebody had emigrated and done well there,. And this is one of the things i have tried to show, actually, by using some social network visualizations. But my sense is that if you do this kind of detailed study of almost anywhere in france,you actually will find many more connections to far off places than has been assumed.
