Is Russia a Potemkin Village?

There are reports of a Russian troop buildup and some fears among Ukrainians that they may be preparing to mount another major assault, perhaps even towards Kyiv. What does Putin really think? What's going to drive him perhaps in the Go-Shin table or not? All signs are that, you know, Russia is in this for the haul and what Putin himself is calling it endless war.
