The PFAS Restrictions Proposal in Canada
PFAS restriction proposal was published just over a couple of weeks ago. It aims to place limits on all uses of more than 10,000 PFASs. The first option is an all-out full ban with no derogations and a transition period of 18 months after the regulation enters into force. If accepted, there will be a timetable set out which we'll seeFirst a six-month consultation on the proposal expected to start on the 22nd of March. Then an Ecker information session on the proposal on the 5th of April,. RAC and CAC's final opinions are then to be made in 2024, so next year. And then the European Commission then adopts the restriction
