There is an emerging problem in astrophysics that if we continue not to find the actual dark matter, then at some point we're going to have to take a hard look and figure out what to do next. We can't keep building more and more sensitive detectors to look for the same dark matter cantid it's forever. At some point you have to say, we've been barking up the wrong tree, and we have to do something different. I think all physics is interesting when it's directly connected with either with data, with either experiments or observations. And i think there are cases where some of the subj areas in astro physics and particle physics that have not been connected with data
