Putton's Approbation in a Russian Autocracy?
In 20 15, with three colleagues, we did a series of surveys that use a methodology that os respondents to answer questions in such a way that it's difficult for the interviewer to know what their true answer is. When you asked people directly, about 85 % of respondents said that they support puton. And when we used this more surreptitious method, the results were about 80 82%. So there was somea dissembling going on when asked directly about putton's approverating,. But the differences were pretty small, and we couldn't really rule out, in a statistical fashion, that people were actually telling the truth.
