The Importance of Transnational Corporations in International Relations

The idea that we need to try and prevent future wars by somehow establishing these transnational institutions is given a big boost by he first world war. The sense that you need a body is perhaps even stronger with the end of the second world war, partly because of the legacy of the nineten twentis and thirties. But there was a sense that one needed an intergovermental body, but wasn't given much teeth to try to regulate issues between relations. Some of the major problems with development of these ideas was that the oganization was hampered very early on by political developments in the real world as it were.
