The Tragic Shipwreck and the Survivor
This chapter recounts the tragic events of a shipwreck that occurred as Arthur's men left a large ship carrying babies. As a storm developed, the ship capsized, and all the children were thrown into the water. However, one baby miraculously survived and was rescued by a miller. This survivor, Mordred, would go on to become the destroyer of Arthur's life and realm. The chapter reflects on the aftermath of the shipwreck and how it was perceived by the parents and the blame that fell on Merlin.
