The Cuban Liberation Army and the War of Independence

The first war of independence begins in 1868 and ends in 1878 slavery still exists then so Cuba is the second to last country in the hemisphere to abolish slavery slavery ended there in 1886 only Brazilian slavery lasted longer until 1888. The wars mobilized enslaved people sometimes they were mobilized by by you know by army units coming into mobilized sometimes they many times they self-mobilized but a large number of enslaved people and formerly enslaved people participated in eastern Cuba. It kind of it it contributed mightily to the end of slavery because how slavery viable after enslaved people have been mobilized to fight in a war was an incentive for them to join.
