The Google Magenta Project and the Human in the Process

Jesse Engel, the computer scientist musician, spoke a bit about the Google magenta project that he's involved with. He pointed out that with magenta there's always a human in the process because again the human is a tool. This isn't soil and green. It's not like Google is made of people. But I found this particularly interesting because it closely mirrors the inner workings of military drones. The most recent US Air Force documents describe a swarm of planes. They have certain autonomous functions meaning they can be programmed to react to their GPS so they can go about on their own. So rather than having at least two pilots in charge of a predator drone in his example you'll have one
