People seem to be somewhat agnostic about their spending habits regardless of whether it's important or not. What I tell people is stop asking $3 questions, start asking $30,000 question. Those would be am I automating my savings and investments? Have I made rules for myself such that if I'm saving 5% this year, I'm going to increase it by 1% per year? If you do these few things, you'll be light years ahead of agonizing over the price of broccoli.
