I think sometimes these teams will sign players before they have to really renegotiate, you know, just sort of keep them on the team and possibly prevent their testing free agency. I'm sure NFL has probably more stricter rules to make sure that if Russell Wilson is pissed when he gets his first $20 million contract because he's only making $400,000 that he'll still have to stay with Seattle if they want him.
