The Time of the Artist

Time is one of the tools that the programmer can use. It's something that's in our reality, but it's not necessarily part of the programmer's reality. The only difficulty is that I feel like Dick doesn't really successfully manage to exercise time from the programmer either. So he says, actually, there's not one player. There's two, a light player and a dark player. And so he imagines it as almost like a cosmic chess game.
