Isn't It Strange That the Big Bang Happens to Have This Low Antropy State?
Physicists believe that the universe began with a very low antropy state. This is based on Einstein's special relativity, which uses what's called mink space. In this four dimensional geometry, you've got one of these cones at every point in spacetime. The cone tells us what light would do if it had a flash of light at that point. It doesn't have to be physically there, but if it were there, it would spread out along this cone. That must always be given by the slope of that line - and here we're talking about time.
