Is Finland Going to Backtrack From NATO?
There is a very strong consensus politically and in the society for Finland to join NATO. There's no fear about Finland backtracking from the decision, but there could be an impatience with Sweden if they don't come on board soon. The Swedish prime minister said yesterday that the security situation in Sweden was the most difficult since the Second World War. That sets the stage for what Finland can do - it has two options: fast track or go it alone.
