The Importance of Memories of War
I think the more we have of people talking about what it was really like, that brings it home to people. You end up with this idea that war is fun or war can be sanitized. And I mean, that might be betraying. To the war museum, it's just that their story should be told. The war museum has a brief to tell people stories. So there you go. There's the my position and the official position. We've lost them in one sense, because anyone we didn't interview is gone. It's too late now for Second World War interview. Those memories are missed. But that doesn't negate the importance of what we did all those years ago
